After my fathers passing I had his 1998 Electra glide shipped to Ct. My father loved to ride , he moved to FL 10 yrs ago so he could ride everyday and ride everyday he did it was great that we shared the same passion for Harley Davidson’s, we rode together since I was sixteen, I have great memories of the bikes and hot rods we built over the years. When I was ten be built me a mini bike and named it the Hornet after the aircraft carrier Hornet CV-12 that he served on during the Vietnam war. So this is my Hornet build for him. I’ll try to update daily.

I have already stripped the bike and sent all the tins to paint. So far I’ve mostly been cleaning and adding a few new parts.

Polished one fork leg today

Most of the stock chrome has cleaned up well.

The engine has taken a lot to clean

BTW the Hornet is docked in Alameda, CA. It is a museum and open to the public. We had the travelling Wall there some years ago.

I’d love to visit it someday. My father was asked to help recreate some areas of the ship when the turned it into a museum.
