poll : Yay or Nay?
Hi guys, I'm in the process of building a new look for my softail.
Just mocked up the tank and the seat and been getting some conflict in opinion (some rather strong) on how shit the bike now looks. Some will say "do what YOU want" and I get it. but at the same time I want to build something that's generally considered beautiful too. So before I put more of my heart, soul and hard earned $ into my project I'd like to know what the general consensus form us "Harley guys" would be on the LOOKS of this current status of the bike. So BESIDES THE PRACTICALITY side of things, what do you guys think of it? You guys remember the "Cool Wall" from Top Gear? just think of this poll like that, so yay or nay? Thanks in advance. (masking tape is only there to protect the paint finish. the tank is of 2016 fourty eight in black.) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...bf1965eb63.jpg |
I get that you want people to like your work. But it’s still your work and nobody else’s. Build it for you.

That tank is SWEET!! Don't let anyone say otherwise, sporty tanks on big twins are awesome. I'm going to have to build a new tunnel for the square frame on my Dyna so I can put a king sportster tank on my fxd.

You going to leave the rear wheel fenderless?
Oh yeah...YAY! |
Looks good. Always be different. Isn't that the harley way?
Only thing that I could nick pick is, the smaller tank capacity. You will stop more often. |
I love the look of a Sporty tank and a sprung solo on a big twin. You can see every bit of the motor. The gaiters are a neat touch as well. Consider a bobbed, beaded rear fender.

Nay. Not a fan of the small tanks on big bikes.

Great job so far :icon_toast: Take some cues for the rear end from Triumphs New Bobber https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...846a7d8c1.jpeg |
I'd put a rear fender on there somewhere! :)
