I agree with the theory of your idea, but not only is it too logical for HD to pull off something like that, who tours in a bike even close to what the Lamewire looks like?
Apparently a lot of people because Google has no shortage of pictures of people touring on naked bikes
Let the company shrink. There will be more wealthy 50 somethings. People keep saying the baby boomers are dwindling, but as far as I know, 30s and 40s somethings are getting older too...
yeah, but they didn't grow up in the '60s and '70s, and aren't going to be trying to live out an Easy Rider fantasy.
getting older doesn't mean they'll want to buy the same kinds of bikes.
Thread like this is more of someone pushing an agenda . Motley fool publishes the sky is falling for about HD often, has been for years. Of course they lost their *** in Polaris/Victory now hope to get some of it back with Indian. Not like HD is going away.
Polaris is getting a short term blip, they're just as vulnerable to aging customers as Harley is since all they're doing is stealing some customers. It's not any more sustainable than what Harley is doing. Polaris, however, has the advantage of making things other than bikes. If Indian goes Tango Uniform, Polaris still exists.
With all of us old farts around you make it sound like Harley should have stayed in the "Golf Cart" business...................
You tour with whatever you have. I used to tour on my buell lightning.
And lately I've been really wanting a Buell Ulysses. Lighter bike for an old fart and would be really nice to travel around the Forest service/logging roads up here.
