I used to laugh at cagers driving their wimpy little hybrids.
Well now I'm one of 'em. My new hybrid gets me to work and home without burning more than a thimble full of gas. And the torque is off the charts. Wouldn't keep up with my former 6-cylinder, but it impressed me enough that I came home with one. And I love it!
I'm actually looking forward to riding a pure electric bike (maybe just a test ride thouhg - I still love my Rinharts!).

But, you can pull into any of 1,000s of gas stations, and fill it up in 2 minutes.
By the way...I’m more inclined to put faith in fuel cell technology, than energy stored in a battery for an alternative to internal combustion.
But, there is also, “Mr. Fusion”.

Sure there are pros and cons, but it's here and very soon will be in all our faces. Fuel cells? Maybe, but what can be more elegant than generating charge (pick your method) and using it directly for motive power? And with only one moving part in the motor?
Fuel cells? Way more complicated than a simple battery/controller/motor, but may be more suitable for commercial applications, the Toyota Mirai notwithstanding. Hydrogen as a fuel? Maybe, but feedstock is still an issue with present technology. Economics will drive which dominates, at least until Mr. Fusion reaches the marketplace. Meanwhile, ICE=DOA, just a matter of time.
