It's been some time, but I remember a posting of a scooter that burned and the cause was a spare fuel canister that was in one of the saddlebags .... can't remember the brand ... the rider suffered burns too ...

I carried two of these from REI on my trip from DC to Grand Canyon.
Didn't need to use them, but was nice to know they were there.

You beat me to it. The pictures were very convincing to not carry extra gas.

When I was riding dirtbikes I would carry one of these in my pack. I never did have a leak. Great insurance.

reda , double zip lock bag and a cloth around because vibration wears through bag to tank. so far so good, it still leaves a very faint smell so careful witch sadlebag to use...

piece of mind to me is worth it , caution:careful who you tell or you will get a lot of"whitch way are you going and can you follow me to the gas station...

When I'm headed to remote areas I take this bike and set up. This is from last year when I was headed to Yellowknife.
