i have Avon heated grips on my FXDF. the right one works really well. the left one does not work at all. ideas on how or where i should begin troubleshooting?

First welcome from Spartan Country Michigan.
I don't have heated grips, but I would start with the obvious. check the wiring leading to the grip. Make sure you have power going up to the grip. Otherwise it may be a bad grip.

looks like its exactly that. just the metal part. all the wiring to the aluminum plate checks out.

I didn't know Avon makes heated grips until I saw this post. Have them on my Road King and have a set waiting to go on my Road Glide. Love Avon grips!!!
