I did the same thing, but used pvc over the threaded rod.

I used a bunch of stuff I already had around the shop, but yeah - a piece of CPVC would have worked out as well.

Great idea! What size copper tubing, and how far apart are the angle brackets that mount to the wall?

I could use a couple of those. I have 2 TP's, 3 passenger backrests, a shield and detachable fairing. Nice work OP!!!

Just 1/2” - but if I didn’t just have it sitting around the shop, I would have grabbed a stick of CPVC instead. A lot cheaper and I think it would work just as well.

Now that I am back from my trip, I have a project this weekend to modify the rack to allow me to mount the tour pak horizontally. I want to be able to store a helmet and other things in it...


we will I’ll see how it turns out!

So the all thread rod is 3/8"? Looks good and clean.

I'm guessing 16" center on the angle tray to catch studs on both sides.

Correct - just by happenstance the inner dimension ended up being the same width as the windscreen mounts.
