Hey! Im new to this site and have a question regarding flag placement on a vest. Im a former 92A in the Army and I chose to put my flag on the Right Side. The union (stars) are pointed towards my shoulder not my chest. Is this really a big deal? As a Christian I chose to place the Flag on the right side because I believe the right side is the highest place of honor (Jesus sits at the right hand of God). I just don't want to get any **** for wearing it "incorrectly". Are there any other rules regarding pins and patches I should be aware of? Thank you in advance!
Awesome. I know nothing goes above it and most feel it should go above the heart. Just curious if you'll get crap for it or not. I personally believe the intentions behind placement is most important.

I like your reasoning. I wear mine on the right also. Coincidentally club by-laws say that's where it gets placed. I've seen plenty of people with it on the right and plenty on the left. The choice is yours unless certain affiliations require that it be in a particular location.
For a group of people (riders that is) who claim to be so free we sure seem to be bounds by a lot of rules. Nobody will call you on it and if they do just tell them - My country, My flag, My choice. Enjoy.

I couldn't agree with you more!

I've got my American flag on the right hand side of the tour pack. Used multiple layers of clear Gorilla tape to keep the mount from rubbing through the paint. When I anticipate all day drives at interstate speeds I'll roll the flag up and bind with rubber bands to keep from beating it up. At times I think the flag has prevented cagers from pulling out, the movement of the flag in the wind catches eyes. Just my humble opinion.
My flag patch is placed based on my rule. On the back of my vest. Top center. No room for anything above it. It is placed there directly above my memorial patch for little brother Jimmy. it is my rule that the only patch that flies higher than his is Old Glory and none higher than that.
the flag should always be on the speakers right. Think of being on a stage talking to a crowd. The flag should be on the speakers right. The left side of the stage as you sit in the audience. Same on a vehicle. On the right side of the vehicle. The field (the stars) always point forward. If you wear a flag patch on your left sleeve, the field (stars) should be on the left side of the flag pointing forward. If you wear it on your right sleeve, the field should be on the right (again, point towards the front) The flag always points in a forward direction, never in retreat. On my American Legion Riders vest, we wear our flag on the upper left side of the vest. Nothing above. I believe you can pretty much wear it where you wish, so long as you present it in a place of honor.
So wear your flag in honor.
And thank you for your service!
