Harley is Making Some New Names for Itself

Harley Davidson's fan base is getting older, so the hog brand is proactively seeking to tap into the millennial market, determined to add one million new riders over the next ten years. These are the bikes that can get the FNGs on the road there and maybe even spark interest in some of us old-timers, er, baby boomers.

No doubt about it.

These warmed over same ole same ole models with new names for between 15 and 50K are gonna turn it around for HD
You know it was just the other day that my 36 year old son said "I don't mind paying for a motorcycle that costs as much as a nice truck and may need the engine replaced, but it's the names of the models I can't stand."

HD reminds me of DMFer I grew up with who thought a chrome barefoot gas pedal made his car faster and worth more.

Yeah, and a lot of those names we can't print on a public forum.

FWIW I took one of those new Triumph Bobbers for a spin and let me tell you, they have something there. That's a very modern performing machine with the classic look. It has real suspension, real brakes, light, nimble and power on tap for daaayyyssss. It's no touring machine but for riding within 1-200mi of the house, it's a blast. I wouldn't mind parking one in the shop between my Street Glide, Pan/Shovel, and '67 Bonneville.

They should name a couple of their new bikes (Peekachoo and Dragon Z) just as an experiment and see how the millennials react to it.

I like the look of the Triumph also. But I would never buy one cuz they're all Made in India nowadays. I'm suresthey're perfectly well made it just it would be like buying a Harley not made in America it's just not the same. I wouldn't even buy a JAP bike that wasn't made in Japan.

Thailand.

Which makes them Thaiumphs. I'm not against a world economy, just give me the "World Economy" price not the "Rich British History" price.
