It's Saturday and I always swing by there on Saturdays for free cokes and whatever else they're giving away. Will I see you and your buds there to cash in on that "super deal?"

gamble71 - Harley did not shut the plant down because of sales. They moved production to the new plant at York to lower production production costs. It has been in the planning for years. York had 26 old buildings which were torn down and replaced by one single building. When the models from the KC plant are up and running it is expected to save 65 to 75 million dollars per year.
H-D is making good profits each qtr. Profitable companies do no go bankrupt.
Tesla which has been in business for over 15 years and has never made a profit is still going. This last qtr they lost a record 3/4 billion dollars.

Why peeps here keep on mentioning the expensive CVOs or the big touring bikes as Harley bke to sell. They sell but not as much as you think, not many want to fork 30-40k plus on a bike.
Harley best selling bikes has been the Iron since 2010, followed by the 48 since 2012, and then it is the Dyna Street Bob, followed by the Street Glide.
These have been Harley's best sellers for the last four years, year in year out.
I am not sure the new Softail Street Bob is selling as much as the old Dyna SB used to in the first months of its production. That small tank has been a daft move IMO.
Its nice in looks but the Dyna Street Bob had been the bike for those with Iron and 48s (Sportsters) who wanted a big V-twin Harley adding the possibility to cruise further without breaking the bank.
That small tank is big let down, till people have some real consumption numbers.
Of the new Softail the bike that is selling the most locally is the new Breakout.

Most all companies go through a rough patch and this is Harley's (And the rest of the industries). 2018's weren't a mistake..or crap. My 2 local dealers cannot keep them in stock. I was on vacation 2 weeks ago and out of the 5 dealers I visited, I found only 1 lowrider and no Sport Glides. Usually only 3 or 4 softails in stock. Many touring machines though. Some members on here don't give much thought to the fact that when people eventually land on this thread while researching their first Harley, posts like this can scare them off.
The bikes are worth what people are willing to pay. You might not like that new Iron 1200 and wouldn't pay $10,000 for it, but a lot of people would, and do.

Boo hoodoo. All the wannabes are leaving and flooding the market with cheap low mileage used bikes. The market will correct. Some high dollar, high tax area shops will close. Riders will continue to purchase bikes. More trikes will be sold as the base gets older. They have made 115 years, its gonna be ok
