Mom (daughter) has been reluctant to allow it. So I sent him up to her from the garage with a helmet and sunglasses on. She says he needs pants...very reasonable. I say let’s go to the shed, there in a box is my old trials riding gear. Knee pads, pants with hip armor, elbow pads and gloves. Helmet and glasses back on, up to see Mom. Pretty much can’t say no! Yes! 8 soon to be 9 and has always grabbed motorcycle mags off the coffee table, attended a trials championship with us, long time coming! My first ride was when I was 8. Got back and Mom asked how it was, he says “it was awesome!” Yeehaw!

They're the same age, except Cooper (the dog) has a head start on the miles riding with about 35,000 under his collar.

Do you have some sort of a platform that the dog rides on? Looks like it to me with his butt so high up in the air, just wondered what the setup looked like without you guys on the bike.

Yes, it is made from furniture foam and layers of exercise mat cut to shape and then covered with deer skin then topped off with a sheepskin from Aerostitch all held on with 3 custom length bungy cords. The Roadster tank is narrow and sloped and I knew I could not go very far with Cooper sliding down on my crotch. He sits higher on this bike than the Norge I had before but with the lower/smaller windshield he hunkers down and stays there better. It’s evolved from him learning to ride on my Ducati, to the Moto Guzzi and now the Harley. He has his own jacket when temps dip and his own rain suit when temps dip lower or it rains. He just soldiers through it all. All totaled approx. 35,000miles in 8 riding seasons. Cooper has done a couple of 500 mile days, always has treats and water, along with his chuckit and ball. Doggles always on when moving causes countless pictures, smiles, thumbs ups, and dumb looks. 1 woman stood up through the sunroof of their car with an IPad taking a movie at 45mph (not staged)! Freeways are fun, people pass then slow down, take a pic then resume on their way. Slowly making our way through crowded small towns with lots of sidewalk traffic can yield a chain reaction of folks pointing, smiling and getting others to look. It’s an absolute hoot!
