Default Ordered new Shoei J Cruise

Well I have been sitting on the fence for too long now to buy a premium helmet. Needed one BAD in DC last year for Rolling Thunder, then we took a 7 day ride and it rained 4 of them, then it was COLD getting out of here in December to Florida.

So I was looking online last night. Normally like to buy from Revzilla but they were priced too high. Amazon had a good price, but the icing on the cake was the deal with the Amazon credit card. Apply for the card and get $70.00 off the helmet instantly, free shipping and six month same as cash.

It will be here Monday and we leave Thursday for DC. Hopefully I will not need it there this year!

Thanks Amazon

Interesting helmet. Saw prices from $312 to $499, depending on vendor and color.

First Shoei I've ever seen that is NOT DOT tested...

I seem to recall DOT requires chin protection. Might be wrong tho.

Backwards, that is Snell. And it cannot be a modular.

Yes the Shoei J Cruise is D.O.T. Certified.

Here's my Arai 3/4 helmet; it has a DOT and SNELL rating; no chin bar. Arai doesn't use the drop down tinted visors like the J Cruise and many others have. They believe it compromises shell integrity. My other helmet is a modular but when I ride my Road King this is what I wear. It makes it easier to see the speedo/tach/signal indicators on the tank without dipping my head from the road (to see past the chin bar). Worst "improvement" made to the Electra Glide Sport when it became the Road King.

Great helmet. I love mine. Especially the internal sun shield. BTW, I believe Shoei has engineered the sun shield in such a way so it has minimal effect on shell integrity. '

Enjoy!

Can't go wrong with Shoei. I wear a GT Air. Internal sun visor. Full face shield which is nice cause most of my riding is in agricultural terrain. We used to have bats but the mosquitoes ate them all.

I got it at Cycle Gear. New old stock and they had an old price tag on it. I let him know I wanted it at that price.

Good choice. Ive had one for a few years now. The have sky rocketed in price recently though. I paid o think about $310 and the last time I looked every vendor that is a true Shoei dealer wanted $500.

Best helmet I've ever owned. Worth the price on a 95 degree day.
