Sit on some various models at the dealer and get an idea of how confident you are on them.
THere's always this as well if you just cant get flat footed

My daughter is 5'1 and she rides a Deluxe. Anything can be made to fit. HD has a fitment shop and can get this set up for you. A few weeks ago a lady was getting fitted on a Slim - definately under 5 feet. She had a hard time with the front of the bike being too high in relation to the seat. She had a lowering kit, lower seat and some other stuff done. We got our bikes on the same day so I was watching while my bike was being prepped..

I would stick to a Sports bike. In perfect conditions, if you are on your tip toes, you are going down shortly.
My 5'7" 180lb friend managed to drop his Roadking three times in his hilly yard before giving up and getting a lower Softail.
I am 6'3" and have come close by being sloppy where I have stopped but I am talking about 50k of miles..but still close even with my outrigger reach.
And 700lb up when it gets over a little too far is going. My outriggers is the only reason I caught it. I was working on one while a owner held it. He got distracted and leaned it my way. Next thing I knew, I was bench pressing the bike and him and it sent me sailing . Fractured a couple bones in my wrist.
Once running, you are not going to have any problem and I am sure will look good on it however. If I was you, ever red light would be scary..

i would never do a sporty, they are a tall bike, with a high CG, and they ride horrible for a lightweight girl (unless you are a weight lifter)
4'8ish with a short inseam is not easy to fit, and the mods to reach the foot controls can get $$
you can PM me and talk to my wife, she has had:
-sporty 883Low: lowering blocks
-Dyna: $300 lowering shocks & blocks & springs, could not reach ground with seat off & sitting on a towel..
-Yamaha 950: $400 rework of foot controls, $200 seat rework, $65 lowering link
-Slim: $400 custom seat, $150 custom pegs, $400 Progressive lowering shocks (this bike is in Texas, new owner wife never rode it)
-Street 750: $100 forum "low" seat.
if you have a good "biker" friend who can wrench, you can try some stuff, but it gets $$ fast.
and the lower the bike is, you have to learn to "offset" your body on the bike, so you don't drag parts & wreck. The lady who got the Yammy 950 left it lowered for the first month of riding, to build confidence.
turning thru an intersection, hit an asphalt seam with the frame, highsided & concussion & broke nose. she rode out to eat & back home two hours though, so she's a Real Biker now
