Would you say that removing the Harley Davidson name from the fuel tank is defaming ?

Defamation would be putting a Honda emblem on it. Or any other brand, for that matter.

I thought it was a goal, a custom bike

Plus some year the badges were awful. For a company so into comsmetics and Willige being a ******, I don;t get some of the badges.. My 01 sucks,.

Edit, Willie, being a home interior decorator.

Both of mine lost the tank logos when they were re-painted. One of them said AMF on it too. That had to go.
If you can't tell what they are, you're just dumb.

If you ride a FXR, you get used to newbies telling you you have a nice Sportster or asking you what kind of bike it is....

RK's the first stock harley I've ever owned that had the name on the tank, all depends on the bike and mood I'm in building it.

I don't think it's deformation but more like personal choice. The badging on the current RK happens to be my favorite. I also like the badging on the Fat Boy.

I think the correct term is debadging.

I like the chrome badge on my Road King tank. I have seen some that I did not care for and if it were my bike would either have it painted or replaced with a different style.

I did see a Honda with a Harley badge on the tank once - now that might be considered defaming....
