USB charging
#31
I have multiple ways of charging my phone or any other USB device on my phone. One is the battery tender connector to USB adapter mentioned above. The other is heated gear connector to USB adapter from Warm N Safe
And if they don't work, I have a battery that I keep in my breast pocket of my jacket that I use to power/charge my blue tooth headset when it's batter dies but I can also use to charge my phone in a pinch

I recently went through this same project. I'm on a Switchback (Dyna) and I wanted to be able to have power to my phone to autotune the bike and also to keep my phone powered for GPS and tunes and what not. I bought a few $20 or less adapters that connect to the battery tender. A.), it is an always on connection so there is a draw on the battery and B.) they are cheaply made.
Bit the bullet and bought the HD 12v plug, only to realize it uses the same power connection that is used for my V&H FP3 tuner. I bought 2 of the HD Electrical Connection Upgrade Kits, snipped a wire here and soldered a wire there and I basically made a Y splitter for the Aux connector. Each of the Electrical Connector kits is $17.95 on the HD website and the 12v is roughly $90. Not cheap, but the parts are very robust and made for perfect fitment and function for an HD. I have zero worry of them failing. Also, when you turn the bike off, power is cut to the 12v socket. Can't say the same for the >$20 Chinese made tender connected plugs.
This setup and a RAM mount for the phone and I'm golden.,
