Not at all. There are many, many Harleys as well as every other type of bike. It’s a large event at Lake George, NY which is in the Adirondack Mountains. The organizers have daily rides planned to various destinations if one likes that sort of thing. It’s also cool to just use your Google maps and head out to lunch somewhere. Lake Placid is a fabulous destination for lunch as well as a town called Old Forge. Both places are winter sport wonderlands that turn very green this time of year and offer lakeside lunch locations. A half hour south is the village of Saratoga Springs. Lots of restaurants and shops for the little lady to get lost in. Back at Lake George the town has a generous selection of places to sit outside, sip a cold one and watch the chicks, er, uh, bikes pass by.
Most manufacturers are there offering demo rides. All of them require sign ups and getting an appointment for a group ride with a leader and caboose Rider for safety. All except Harley Davidson. Like other HD demo ride sights they scan your HD license and set you free on the pre-determined course up slightly twisty Route 9 to Warrensburgh where you enter Route 87 ( the Adirondack Northway) and scream back to town at whatever speed you dare. The whole course is around 15 Miles I think. I’ve ridden countless runs from 9 am to 5 pm and enjoyed most of HD’s top-of-the-line bikes. I also dig the not-so-fine bikes. I try to ride them all.
I love the Adirondacks and spent 25 years straight snowmobiling there. To me it’s a gift from God.

Eat at "Tail O The Pup". It's between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake on 86..

I'll be there. I think our plan is to stay in our place in Saratoga thursday night and Lake George Friday night. Not sure if we'll head home saturday or stay till sunday.
The Topside Grille in Lake George is a pretty nice semi out of the way spot to grab a drink if anybody's looking for a spot.

Americade initially was a Honda only event. I went for a few years and I'll never go again. Too many small towns hassling riders led by either Barney Fife or Buford T Pusser types.. I've been pulled over with STOCK pipes for decibel inspections pulled over with other riders for speeding while riding under the limit. The neighboring towns do not get the Lake George revenue one way so they get it another.. Its a shame as its an easy ride for me...
