Motorcycles and people on their phones
Im at the point lately where i dont want to ride my motorcycle unless i can ride it on the country backroads. Why? People on thier dam phones.
Weve all seen the drivers drifting towards the other lane because they are on thier phones, or when the light turns green they just sit there until you honk because they are looking at their phone. I think its worse then having a nation filled with drunk drivers. Has anyone else given up riding in traffic or the city? I use to love to ride to work everyday, i dont do that anymore.

Hold on now(?),,
There's a gazillion threads on this forum about mounting phones to handle bars, which GPS program is the best and which helmet is best for Bluetooth,,?,,
Somehow "bikers" are better user's of smart phones then cagers? Half these Fkrs can't even figure out where their going without a soothing voice telling them when to turn,,
Get a grip saltlick,, it's what it is.

I think what made me more paranoid is trying to teach my kid how to drive, hes 17 and man kids are bad drivers when they start. Throw in a phone and jesus.

All the more reason for motorcyclist today to be on the ball, constantly.Always being aware whats going on around you ,360 degrees at all times.Yes we as responsible drivers(cars or bikes)have to always compensate for other drivers stupidity. Its just the way it is whether there on the phone, yelling at the kids or playing with themselves it dosn't matter, THERE DISTRACTED DRIVERS !!! Bikers must be aware of these fools at all times.

Yep I do keep my head on a swivel and Im blessed that 95% of my riding is on 2 lane country roads thru farming areas. If I were to crash it would be due to wild life most likely ( read : a lot of deer & hog and large scavenger birds feasting on carcass). As at times we do not see a lot of cagers or any for some time . When I do get into congested areas I do my best to keep my back and front end covered and try to either fall back or get a head of the congestion if possible.
Even by us doing everything we can, the cagers arent doing their part to be a defensive drivers. They eat, drink, BS on the phone, text,.......Ive seen nitwits watching movies on phones iPads as they drive (WTF??) Pipes as loud as shotguns and enough illumination to light up a ball park and the cagers still dont hear or see us. Riding ones dream toy has its drawbacks but not enough for me to drop the love of 2 wheels. Gear up, and be alert try to ride in areas that are sparsely populated if at all possible.
