Default So the dealer will install your tire for 45 bucks but...

...mark up the tire by 30 percent. haha.

Pretty amazing. They told me $45 for the tire mount, as a summer "special." Good enough. But then they wanted to charge me $238 for the tire. I can get the same tire for $169 all day. (Commander 2).

I asked them if I could send them the tire and still get the $45 install. You can guess what the answer was.

Gotta love the dealer. I have no balancer and the good mom and pop that did this for me in the past has gone out of business. Gonna have to find another, I suppose.

I caught a nail a few weeks back. I plugged it and it's holding PSI just fine. But I guess I should get the tire replaced. I know some disagree and just ride on the plug.

Cycle gear charges $25 per wheel. I got a good deal on the tires I wanted too.

IF you buy the tires there

Sometimes, they price match.
They also offer sets for a really good price, but those are more sports oriented tires.

Excellent Jed. I'll call them up. They have a location about a half hour away and looks like they have my tire for $156.

Policy varies by dealer. The dealer near me won't install 'carry-in' parts of any kind. No exceptions. Others will do tire mounts for the tires you bring in but generally don't like to install non-HD parts if its anything complex.

My last two tires, one at a scooter shop the other at a Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki dealer, were much cheaper then the stealer wanted. I rode in, parked, and the new tires were mounted for free.
