Wore one from "Fly", wear under a light jacket to be more effective. Soaks up water in a couple of minutes and lasted for a couple of hours. It will get the clothing under wet but it does keep you cool.
I use one whenever I ride in a hot weather, I soak it good and then remove excess water from it then wear it under my mess jacket and last about 20 to 40 minutes. It truly works if you wet it good and keep it in the fridge for an hour or so, then it last much longer. $30-60.
You have to let it hang dry or it'll smell bad.....the reason I am saying that is, I forgot and left it in my saddlebag and the next day it smell bad so I had to throw it in the washer and then let it hang in the garage.
Very useful for sure, better than not having one for sure.
I also pour water in my helmet when the weather is hot and when the wind blows through it it feels good.

mine is made by Hyperkewic. Bought it at cycle gear for $50.00. Soak it in cold water till its fully wet 5-6 minutes, wipe off excess water lasts about 3 hours. Soak it in the washroom every time I fill up with gas. hang it up to dry when finished, doesn't stink at all (maybe would if you had soaked it in stinky water) I have used it in 95 plus degrees would not be without it on hot days
Love mine. Under my jacket (leather or nylon or mesh) it lasts several hours. It was under a hundred but more than 75 I think. Made for BMW which is more than Harleyesque in their pricing. HOWEVER it soaks up water immediately and doesnt wet me under, has some sort of membrane inside. When it loses efficiency I just wet it in a mens room at a gas stop. If I dont wring it out a little it will drip to my pants, minor embarrassment but Im an old guy and people expect that!
They work very well. I store mine on the bike it in a gallon freezer bag . When I want to use it, I pour two 16 oz bottles of water in the bag. Takes a couple of min for the vest to soak it up and Im good to go.
