Default Bike started running rough and check engine light

Hey folks,

Hope y'all can point me in the right direction. I rode my 2015 Iron 883 yesterday for a couple of hours and right as I got home left the bike running while I opened the garage door it started running rough and missing..and then it shut off. It has never done that in the six months I have owned it. It only has about 4500 miles on it. It started right up and I pulled it in the garage and went on. Thought it was a fluke. Well went to ride this morning and got about 15 minutes away and it started missing and running rough and the check engine light came on. So headed home and ran the diagnostics and it showed

ECM – Yes

SPDO – Yes

ABS – NO

BCM - NO

came up with the following codes:

U0156 - Lost Communication With Speedometer

P0263 - Rear Injector Open/Low

U0001 - CAN bus Fault

U0121 - Lost Communication With ABS

So after reading some posts on the forum about old codes still showing I cleared the codes and started the bike and let it run a few minutes and reran diagnostics. It then showed

ECM

SPDO – NO

ABS – NO

BCM – NO

The ECM was blank and when I went into it I only saw NO RSP

So not sure where to go with it at this point any advice is appreciated.

Do Sportys have a variable speed sensor? If so pull it out and clean the metal off it. I had the same symptoms on my 03 Road King and the speed sensor was caked up with metal shavings. Cleaning it off can help but sometimes you have to swap it out all together.

Go for a ride and check codes.

Well I got home today and after reading other posts on the forum I remembered the bike got soaked in a heavy summer rain last week sitting in the driveway. Someone had a similar problem after washing their bike and used contact cleaner and dielectric grease on the ecm pins and fixed the issue. So I thought it was worth a try and did the same. Took about a 10 mile ride right here near the house and ran great, no missing and no check engine lights etc. Checked codes after I got home and everything was clean, no codes. I am not 100% convinced that its fixed as that seems far too easy lol. We will see I guess...
