A story about the brotherhood of bikers
While returning from Wisconsin last week, riding on the interstate in 95+ degree heat... I pulled off and was parked in the shade at a gas station. I was stretched out under a tree when a young (early 20s) woman approached me and said You look like you could use this. and she gave me a bottle of water. She said she rides and knows what its like to be overheated and tired. It is always nice when a fellow rider understands and lends a helping hand.
And before anyone gets the wrong idea... I am a 62 year old, white haired, overweight guy who was traveling with my wife of 39 years so this was just what I described... a fellow biker helping out - nothing more.

In 1966 I was riding from Alabama to Texas, got a late start and it was well into the night when I got to the outskirts of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Thought I'd catch a nap, and went to sleep next to the bike in a rest stop parking lot. Woke up to several guys standing over me and thought this might be painful, but they offered to guide me with their bikes to the bridge (one lane back then) a faster way than staying on the highway, and avoiding city traffic lights they said I'd run into. Decided to trust them, and sure enough got past the city and reached the bridge much quicker than I expected. Lot of good folks ride, hard to find a better group of people that sometimes have little else in common than a motorcycle.

That was a nice gesture of her. Last year I bought a water bottle holder to keep myself hydrated. It was a good idea at the time. What I didn't realize is that the more water you drink, the more bathroom stops you have to make, which for me, it usually means watering the cornfields while standing on the side of the road.
