Are you trying to say we're supposed to wear clothes?

Actually, you want to watch the tops of the front tires, as they'll move twice as fast as the car does. This technique is used during "filtering" by the more experienced riders.

Ride safe

Ride your own ride. By that I mean don’t get out of your comfort level regardless of what anyone you may be riding with is doing. Also take the time to give your Bike a good going over (tires, fasteners etc) every now and then.

That said, have fun!

Ride fast, take chances. Remember on a Harley you still have the reflexes and eyesight of an 18 year old. Enjoy.

I'm 54 as well but I've been riding for 29 years. The older I get the more cautious and fear I have on the roads. Ride with the attitude that everyone on 4+ wheels is out to kill you because most likely they are. Assume nothing, stay in gear at red lights, leave escape routes, never drink and ride, the front brake is your life line, never leave home without your leathers, change tires well before your friends tell you to, you can never have too many lumens, deer move even in the day.

Feeling a bit better reading this. I thought I might be the oldest person here to get their endorsement Got mine last year just before I turned 51.

A ton of good advice here. The thing that stands out the most I first heard from our instructor: "Ride your own ride". He repeated this constantly!

I also ride very cautious of other vehicles.

I think this may be to our advantage that we're older, and maybe its easier to be cautious as we've had more life experience, and are starting to realize we aren't invincible.

Have fun!
