Depends on location. And at mechanics pay, who will work long for any company working 7, or even 6, days a week?

 

Years ago, a retired Navy buddy opened his own shop. He was open from noon to 10pm, Fri - Mon. Closed Tues - Wed -Thurs. Stocked tires and brakes for all brands. Did simple stuff like oil changes and tires. No cam or carb work. Sold parts to the DIY mechanics.

He stayed as busy as he wanted. All the other bike shops around him closed noon or 4pm on Saturday, and Sunday and Monday. He closed to attend events and rallies.

He wouldn't tolerate some of the arrogant customer seen today.
