This is an interesting idea. Haven't found a good place for my phone anywhere on the handelbar.

With the phone mounted on the tank bib were you able to read the screen while riding?

The phone will be laying rather flat, how was sun glare on screen?

Did this on the tank bib of my FXDF, too. 7 years and zero issues.
Velcro is amazing. My problem has always been with the adhesive that holds it in place, especially in climates where summer temps regularly go over 100°.

I have a Ram Mount X-grip on my Iron that has been great so far. I have a Quadlock as well that I use for cycling. I prefer the integrated design of the quadlock’s mount/phone case. At the same time, the ram mount can be used to hold a PV or other electronics that the quadlock cannot.

Ram mount. I haven't had to worry since I installed mine.

MORPHEUS LABS M4S Ultra. Case is waterproof up to 5m, dirt proof, shock proof. Not had the chance to try it on the bike yet, but after fixing the case to the bracket, it seems to be a really strong connection when locked in place.

I don't remember if I used this to attach it to the Ultra's faring, but I know it used it to attach the velcro to the FXDF tank bib. I live in MD - it gets hot and humid and bitterly cold. Never had a problem. This stuff is awesome.

I used to use velcro in my truck, stuck the phone right to the steering wheel. Worked great in my GMC, but in my Mazda, for some reason, the glue would run in the heat and make a real bad sticky mess.... I gave up on velcro and went to one of those magnetic mounts. thinking about trying that for the Heritage.....with and old phone first.

Default Why the handle bar?

I once had my gps/phone on the handle bar when there was no other options. Take a look at some of the faring mount options. There is far less vibration on the faring vs the handlebars.
