I wish Harley success as endeavor will take big cojones and a lot of money.
However, Harley has always been a company that leaves too much out of their bikes knowing that their owners will likely add it or modify them. This is not going to work with these new bikes and new market. H-Ds competitors for this market and this class of bikes already make some phenomenal bikes loaded with all sorts of advanced technology and power and at a lower price. Harley can't even add a 50 cent helmet lock to their bikes, much less LED lighting that has been around for over a decade now.

All I see is another failure and like another poster said bikes sitting at dealers collecting dust. You know its not going to be all it can be out of the gate. Stage kits and doodads etc to make it what you can get stock from the competition thats been making this type of bike for years. Another red headed stepchild like Buell.

I hope you and they are right.
They are going to need 200+ hp, the best electronics in the class, great suspension and crazy good ergo's to boot, to compete with the S1000RR.
I dont see any of that happening.
Dont get me wrong, I kind of want one of these, but to think they will compete with the S1000RR is laughable. That bike is IMO in the top 3 of super bikes right now.

People expecting HD to bring something like the Streetfighter in at 10K are being unrealistic. The Ducati 1200 Monster starts at 15K

You got it. For decades HD has gotten away with their mind set which as you alluded to is not going to work anymore because their new bikes they're showing are not designed for many alterations. Look at HD's catalog. What 890+ pages? As for LED lights? That is w/o a doubt intentional. They want to appease their pride and true rawhide type riders who don't like modern technology.
