HELP...1991 FLHTC...Pops and Spits Bad
I am at my wits end. I have a 1991 FLHTC with 21,000 miles. Problem started last summer. When motor got hot it would start to spit and fart from the carb. and tailpipe. Ran great in cold weather.
This year in warm summer the things just spits and farts something aweful. I have replaced the intake seals, rebuilt the carb. , flushed gas tank, cleaned fuel filter, rebbuilt shut off valve. Replaced the ignition coil and wires, plugs. Ireplaced a defective VOES switch (Bad Readings). I just replaced the control module and that made it run worse. Somehow I think I am looking at a bad carb., but how do I know for sure. Frustrated in Buffalo, NY....ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Running rough
I'm having a little episode of my own. I have a 1989 FLHTC with about 150,000 miles on it. i'm the original owner. just recently i've been have a problem that i can start her up warm up for a couple of minutes, ride about ten miles and she starts to die, then come back on again and repeat. Checked the plugs after this run and the plugs were white. So needless to say i'm a little perplexed. I've always kept my bike running good all these years. Anybody have any comments on this.

Get a hair dryer or a heat gun. Start your bike and point the hair dryer at the cam chest.
If your bike dies you have a bad ignition pick up.
Also post your question in the EVO section.
There are a bunch of very smart people over there and can help with all EVO problems.
