I’ve read quite a few threads on lifter failure on the 110s . Does anyone know why the high rate of failure of lifters on 110’s and not so much on the 103’s or 96s . Do any of you have a 110 with a ton of miles on it and have not had any Motor issues.

110's have heavier valve spring pressure than the 103 or 96 so there is more load on the lifter.

Mine went at 24,000 miles on my Fat Boy S. Lucky for me it was just inside the 2 year warranty period so HD had to give me a new engine.

A note that I have a M8 and did the stage 3 114" top end. My lifters failed and we found out they use the same crap screaming eagle lifters that are in the 110 motor, they replaced them with the same crap but ran great for the last 20k miles no issues.

Gosh all golly, I thought only Evos had problems with lifters failing.
