HD's new Adventure bike

As the adventure bike market continues to grow MoCo has decided to get in the game. http://japan.webike.net/moto_news/ha...paign=20180825

Interesting.

I am curious about the performance when the comparison tests will be made with BMW R1200 GS and KTM's 1290 Super Adventure. These bikes are the benchmark in this segment, something MoCo never had to deal with as MoCo is their own benchmark. The "HD adventure" will need to perform , on- and off-road, if it wants to break through in this growing market. I wonder where MoCo got the know-how for off-road from. It's not like MoCo has 40 years + continuous experience/ exposure in real off-road motorcycles like their direct experienced competitors. Making a bike that only looks nice and not perform/ handle well, will not make the cut in this demanding adventure motorcycle segment.

It's probably around 90% of GS and adventure bike riders that have never left the pavement. Probably never convert the 10% that do. Its the majority that just want the farkled out adventure bike look so they can feel like Ewan MacGregor on the weekend with everything from the Touratech catalog bolted to their bikes.

Edit to add: I dig the new bike.

Harley is going to make a killing on branded adventure bike suits, boots, and helmets with visors in them.

You could have spelled "tough" correctly if you went to college and got a degree ;)
