Default Here's how it goes down

You want to ride tomorrow?
Sure, where to?
I don't know. Maybe 200+ miles.
How about Chinook Pass? We haven't been there this year.
OK. What time?
8 or 9. Or how about 7?
7. I'll be at your house at 7am.
OK.
OK.
And the ride is on.......
Best thing in the world...being retired, owning a motorcycle, and being able to ride. Don't get no better.
Unless Christie Brinkley wanted to come along for the ride.

Here's my scenario;
You wanna ride tomorrow?
Yes, where you want to go?
Let's ride up to the mountains
OK, what time?
9:00 AM OK?
Sure, be at my house at 8:45.
OK.

8:45 comes around and I roll into his driveway. He's still having coffee. Finishes coffee then lollygags around talking to his ol lady. Leisurely strolls out to garage and spends 10 minutes gathering helmet, gloves, jacket. Rolls bike out of garage and checks tire pressure, oil level, etc. By now it's 9:30 AM. Fires bike up and puts gear on. I get on my bike and start it up, he rolls up and says I need to stop for gas.
You couldn't have done all this **** last night like I did? This is why I ride alone.

Sounds awesome...but even Christie would have to stop to pee every 10 minutes. Leave her home (in your head where she's still 25) and enjoy your ride!

You're up and riding at 7 AM? I am not even out of bed yet. True retirement doesn't start until at least 8 AM. LOL

Yup, same thing with every band I’ve ever played in. “Bikers” and musicians must be cut from the same cloth. Gettin everybody together on time is like trying to herd cats.

My group:

Saturday post to private FB group: Meeting at (different place each week) tomorrow for lunch. Stands up at 1:00
Sunday at lunch: "Where are we going?"
"I don't care. Let's head south this week. The band at Lisa's is supposed to be pretty good today"
"Cool, sounds good. What is that, like 65 miles?"
"Yeah, but I want to take a different route. Say 80 miles."
"Cool, lead the way. Let's ride!"
Vroom.
