Tips for Harley Riders on the Dragon/ pissing matches
Don't try to be a hero. I was there this weekend in a car. I'm a fantastic driver, and while I wasn't in anything remotely considered a sports car, I'm very fast.
Fortunately, the Harleys, by and large, were polite and pulled over, but there was this one. It was a two-up that was riding with two one-up bikes and was significantly faster than the one-up bikes. I closed in a hurry on the one-ups, and they let me by. A few seconds later, I caught the two-up, and this guy really tries to pick up his pace. He started scraping his floorboards around the corners, and his corner entry lines weren't the best, but, man, was he pushing it. It really didn't matter what he tried; I was much faster than him, and all he was doing was putting his lady at risk. After several corners of scraping, he pulled over and let me by. Smart move. He quickly disappeared.
Don't let your ego get the better of you on the Dragon. When you see faster company coming, find a pull-off. It's better for everyone.

Don't cross the solid double-yellow line. That's a major safety violation.
Don't be a dick by holding up other traffic. Unless you're a police officer, it's not your job to try to "enforce" speed limit civil infractions.
And there's nothing wrong with enjoying the road in a spirited fashion, but public roads are not race tracks.

I have done the dragon in a car and on a bike. I do the speed limit or a few over, but I ride a nice line and enjoy the thinking and technical part of that kind of riding. I also scrape my boards, but that is me not being smart on how I lean into the corner. I still have a crotch rocket mentally sometimes when riding.
I bet he does not even use his rear brake for riding, that is for newbies.

While not Dragon-specific, I try to be as polite as I can be while riding twisty roads. I try to make sure that someone sees me in their rear-view mirrors before I pass them. I don't pass in corners. I don't pass with limited sight lines. I don't buzz people at close range. I don't strafe past with an unreasonably large speed differential. I don't intentionally pass on one wheel. I have a stock exhaust system, so I'm not startling the ones that are sleeping while driving/riding. I slow down for pedestrians and cyclists, and give them plenty of room.
And then once I'm past them, I go back to enjoying my side of the road.
