The article says he still has the key to it. One key. No mention of the keys to his disc locks. No mention of the key(s) to his Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit chain(s). Hmm...

It's gonna be hard to take a dump if you never leave your bike. I guess you could crap your pants but then it gets all mushy when you ride.

One wiff of that seat would cause a freight train to take a dirt road.

That’s probably a pretty good theft deterrent right there. Nobody will want to steal a bike with a big steamer on the seat.

When my bike is out of my sight I lock the bars, ignition and the bike has security system. If it gets stolen, it's insured. I ain't carrying around chains and locks.

If I stay at a hotel, I pay the night clerk $20 to let me park it near the entrance. Never had an issue. Due diligence is about all you can do short of carrying around all the chains, locks and worrying about it.

Won't need a seat pad or gel cushioning, I reckon...

I don't stress about the bike getting stolen. I take the key and fob with me and carry full coverage insurance. Not stressing a second over it.

I've done tens of thousands of long trip miles. Stayed in motels all across the country. Never had a problem. I'm sure some bikes get stolen. But some cars do too. That's just reality. You can't live a life attached to either. So make sure you insure your rides well enough to cover your loss just in case.
