Default 3 In the road

On the way home from work this evening,
Kind of a back road here in town(Woods on 1 side)
3 good size whitetail right in the middle milling around,
Usually the sound of the Shovel scares them off,
Bout 15/20 yrds then they finally scatter,
Couldn't tell if they where button or Doe,
Beautiful sight unless 1 or two decided to turn back&sideswipe me,

Just say'n be careful out there as their starting to roam,

YEah, Jshopes...PA deer are on the roads so much you would swear they think they have drivers licenses. 4 at the end of the street from me a few days ago. Just stood there and stared at me. Fuzzy bastards.

I live in Pa too and I hate this time of year. They're bad enough throughout the year they usually start roaming more in late summer. Then once deer season starts up all the hunters go into the woods and stir them up even more.

I went out for a ride on Sunday afternoon to my favorite local twisty road. It's a 7-8 mile stretch with no houses that dead ends at a dam on the river. It's generally deserted on the weekend except for other bikes. It happened that I had it to myself on Sunday, except for 4 deer, 6 wild turkeys, and 9 feral pigs, one of which was nearly 5' long!

I usually ride in to work around 50-55mph. Down to 40-45 now that the sun rises later, and the deer are out and about. Can't see em til it's too late

Had three in the road by my WI property last week. Plenty of warning, so no issues, but I slowed down and looked where they went into the thick woods next to the road. You couldn't tell where they had room to go in.

We have a lot of deer where I live. In areas where I have seen deer a lot, I slow down. I try not to ride around dawn or dusk.
We also have lots of bears. Last year a guy on an old classic BSA hit one about a mile from my house. He just got scrapes and bruises. His bike looked a lot worse.
You always have to pay attention You never know who's going to come out of the woods.

I will tell you one thing. If them deer were not at a deer crossing I would report them to the police.
