The wife had some friends come over yesterday and the garage door was open. They know that we travel a lot by motorcycle and looked the bike over. It wasn't long before I was giving rides to all of them. One of the girls mentioned that she would like to learn to ride. I mentioned some smaller size bikes but she said that if she's going to ride that it's going to be on a Harley.
Any ideas on how low you can make an 883?

 

A Dyna would be much better and can be slammed pretty low. Lots of them available for sporty price or less.
Everyone thinks sporty but they are top heavy and soon out grown by many.

just saying.. my wife is small I've had 2 sporties and she didn't like either as well as the 07 fxd lowered..

 

A Softail Slim not only has a lower seat height but also a lower center of gravity. It's a very popular bike with short men and women.

 

Maybe a picture would help. I probably should have included it in the OP. The girl on the left is the one interested. I didn't get her actual height or inseam. She's pretty close to chin high on me and I am 5' 10".

Another vote for the Slim. I'm 5' 1" and my '17 Slim fits me very well.

 

If that's the girl, her only real option is gonna be a bike like the Sportster Super low or the Street. Possibly the Street Bob. It would be very unlikely she could reach the rear brake or shifter on any bike that doesn't sport mid-controls. If she added the Burly Slammer Kit to the bike, and wore boots with thick soles and heels, she might be ok. But without seeing her actually sit on a bike, I'm just guessing.

 

A shovel or a pan are both narrower ,, a ridged frame is lower
Finding one that's been gone through ground up for a new rider would be the issue
