Battery disposal and the horrendous pollution created during mining for the battery components makes electric vehicles anything but "Earth friendly..."

But, their performance is certainly rivaling gasoline.

Took a test ride on the Harley electric prototype 18 months or so ago. It was a small sport bike definitely not a tourer. Around town you did not need to use the brakes, you could stop at a light by rolling off the throttle. Surprising instantaneous acceleration and of course no shifting. It was fun to ride but like electric cars range will be an issue until they can get some new battery tech.

Welcome to the forum on your VERY FIRST post on electric bikes troll.

What kind of bike did you say you had?

Oh they all short out and electrocute riders. Total failure in anything but sunny days, and you've still got to avoid puddles.

As for seeing some, use Google. There are several dealerships with viable electric bikes not that far from you right now.

Depending on your definition of sleek, you might want to see about importing a Johammer from Australia.

But then, none of what you said was real, was it?

As for rain, I would expect the power source to be sealed from the elements so that shouldn't be a concern. Not for me though.
this is where Harley is in a unique position compared to other moto companies in the electric bike market. Because of the amount of dealers HD has across the country, if Harley develops a touring electric bike that can last long enough to get from dealer to dealer easily and have quick change batteries so you just pull up pay some money and swap out for some charged batteries. That would be a major step past the competition

Very true, that. I owned a 650 Burgman for a short while, and it had an electronically controlled CTV drivetrain. Crack the throttle open, and you take off like a damn bullet.
Very quiet, too.

At a stop light once, I was next to a mini van- rusty, belching smoke, dents- your basic P.O.S. The driver was down to her last couple teeth, the only thing missing was her corn cob pipe.
She pointed at me an started laughing. Must have thought it looked strange, which it did at the time. Anyway, when the light turned green, I hit the throttle and she disappeared from my rear view mirror very quickly. She caught up to me a another red light a few miles up the road. She wasn't laughing anymore. Wouldn't even look at me. Which was fine by me.

But yeah, they accelerate like nobody's business.
