I get what the OP and others are saying.
Here in Eastern Canada we pay around $1.25-$1.35 per liter for Premium. I burn it in everything I drive.
4.55liters for 1 gallon International or around 3.8something liters for 1 gallon US (Your gallon is a little smallersmallerSo we are paying around $5 CDN for 1 US gallon ( or more if you to factor in exchange on money)
So.....next time you gas up think about the fellas north of the borderwjo arr being gouged to death on gas prices and a lot of other things.
Happy motoring....

Even with my diesel, the difference in the cost of a fill-up when I'm fairly low on fuel (30 gallons or so) usually varies. perhaps $ 3.00 as diesel at most stations is now $ 3-19 to $ 3.29 per gallon (we have two stations where it's $ 3.99!).
For the bikes, I always use 93 octane (as they require so little gas) but both of my wife's cars require premium and I will put 91 octane in the lease car but the Vette get's 93 octane.
There are 4 stations (Shell, Marathon, Mobil and Sunoco) within two (or so) miles from us and I usually use Sunoco because it is more convenient and they have 91 & 93 octane fuel(s) while the others only have 93 octane.
I haven't noticed any difference in how either car runs on different brands of fuel and the "experts" claim the only noticeable difference the average person may notice would be in smoother engine idling.
On the highway, 91 octane does as well as 93 octane IMHO.

Down here the only grades available are 87, 89, and 91. All can be had in ethanol and non ethanol varieties.
I always find that all of my **** runs slightly better with Shell but I have no logical explanation for that. I don't go out of my way looking for Shell though.
My bike requires 91 due to engine mods. I was once in a very remote area and ran out of gas on my bike. The only thing available was 87. My bike started to ping a lot so I used one gear lower than normal and that took care of it until I could get some 91 in it.

Small capacity of fuel tank yes, fantastic fuel economy, in my case (2013 Ultra Classic) hell no! My 6 cylinder Honda Accord gets almost the same MPG. Both vehicles around 33 mpg.
