i have a mesh HD jacket I wear during summer...and have a lightweight liner I put inside/underneath for those cooler mornings/rides. Works great down to about 55-60 degrees. Then it is one of the textile jackets. Lots of choices.... look around.... I have some collegiate jackets that are nice and lightweight and about like a hoodie. You got choices!!!

[QUOTE=jp0469;17705654]Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions for a light riding jacket. Basically something about the same warmth as a hoodie for cool-ish weather where a long sleeve shirt isn't quite enough. I'd prefer to stay away from MoCo branded clothing unless the branding is subtle. For example, I'd probably consider something like this if it works well:

Thanks
I have the jacket in your link and absolutely love it. It serves the exact purpose your looking for. It takes up very little room in the saddle bag and is just enough for cooler mornings and evenings, especially with a long sleeve t-shirt and long sleeve shirt underneath.

I have used this Harley windproof fleece this last year. I really like the windproof fleece it's warm and very light weight. On a cold morning I just add a light quarter zip fleece.

I carry a "mesh" jacket on my bike along with a long sleeve, thermal, three button shirt for the hot-to slightly cool rides.
For cooler rides I have two "faux" (a.k.a. fake) pleather jackets with light liners that look great an no one suspects that they aren't real leather and they're also soft and pliable and they do a better job of wind breaking than a denim or textile jacket. I got luck and found these two jackets on close-out, end of season sales a couple of years ago for less than $40 bucks each!

I have two Pilot jacksts; one is mesh and the other is cordura nylon. They are very well made and both came with a zip-out liner. The liner for the mesh jacket is waterproof (resistant?). Both came with elbow, shoulder and back armor. I have a mesh Harley jacket that is mostly black and hot, even though it is mesh. The Harley jacket did not come with armor, which was another $50 bucks. It is my experience that any jackst is going to be hot in the summer, at least in Mississippi. Taking the heat to get the protection is a trade-off that everyone has to decide for themselves.
