Default FF Helmet: Does anyone do this?

Yesterday I did a short 100 mile ride and had my full face helmet on. I wear it for safety, not because I like it. I catch myself riding with the face shield up so I can get some fresh air. In colder weather it's not an issue, but in warm weather it can be stuffy with the shield down.

Does anyone ride with a full face helmet with the face shield removed? To me, it seem like the best of both worlds.

It's all great fun until something hits you in the eye.

Under 30mph i ride with the visor up, but i have a dark internal sun screen. Over 30mph and i'm getting plenty of airflow through my helmet with the visor down. Wind noise is a bit much riding over 30mph with the external visor up.

Nope. Harder to go the other way. Once you've had the breeze on your cheeks, it's hard to go back.

That is very true.

The Gringo is on my short list, as soon as I can find a dealer that has some in stock to try on for fit.

My Bell helmet has a detent they call city mode so that the face shield is open about an inch. I can ride with it like that up to around 70 or so and it works great.

I have the face shield removed entirely on my Torc T1 as I hardly ever use it,,When wearing my modular helmet, the only time I use the face shield is if it rains or if it is very cold.

That pretty much describes me. Funny enough though, I don't have an issue with wind or noise in my half helmet.
