Default My wife plans on joining me now on her own bike...what is a good first bike for her

So, I got a new slim a few month ago I have been riding about 10 years my wife now according to my plans has decided to take the safety course and get her a bike. She has only rode once in her life but insists on getting a HD. What would be a good bike for her to get used as a first bike that would allow her to keep up with me. Not saying I am some awsome rider or anything I just want her to be comfortable on the 4 hour rides i do on the weekends plus she has bad knees and do not want her to have problems with the weight of the bike.

The Softail line up will likely be the best choice if she wants something with low center of gravity...

If she has bad knees nothing will help but not putting weight on them. She can’t wear a brace on both knees but yeah

My wife got the XG750 and loves it. Light and easy to ride. It’s a Harley but not made here. We also have a 1200 Sportster but they are top heavy and she wanted ABS.

She put put on a windshield, slip on exhaust and saddlebags.

Get her an 883 iron, low seat height plenty of power for the first rider and, you can mod it with 1200 barrels for under a grand once she needs the extra grunt.

I say her knees are bad i can hear them grind at times EX college basketball player she is. She is tall 5'10 with a 34" inseam she looked like a spider on my bike im 5'11 with a 29 inch inseam, I was thinking a sportster and she likes alot of chrome unlike me.

At 5'10", she is big enough for a Softail. Which ever model suits her tastes.

Does she like the Fat Bob? Very light for a soft tail.

the "street 750" is a GOOD bike, and you can get one cheap, and then if she don't ride, you can only lose so much $$ on the deal.

i would never buy a sportster for a woman/girl, complicated to explain, but lots of wrong ergonomics there.

another SLIM would be your best bet, if your wallet allows it.
