I was thinking how it might affect my speedometer myself ...
It was popular on M/C 10 or 12 years back, but eventually fell by the wayside.
Guys with to much money in their pockets will add nitrogen just for bragging at the cafe'.

My local ford dealer put it in no charge on my Mustang when I purchased new tires. And they had a great price on the tires!

It does work as advertised.

I do some pretty long trips on my Limited ( 7-9 Thousand miles ) and have been changing tires due to cupping. With the TPMS I have noticed the rear tire will go up to as high as 55 lbs. ( 40 cold ) I blame this on the cupping. When I got back from last trip I decided to try Nitrogen. Just by letting the air out and refilling with Nitrogen the highest the pressure got was 48. Decided to try a vacuum pump, it just popped the tire of the bead. Removed tire and cleaned wheel and tire with alcohol then installed dry. Took a lot of pressure to bead. then hooked a vacuum pump up to it for 5 minutes. Rode it for an hour and tire pressure stayed at 40. I will know more next season when I'm two up and loaded with gear. Unfortunately riding season here is over. I also have a AC Vacuum pump and a Nitrogen tank at work so cost was minimal.

I could understand HELIUM?, but nitrogen something sounds fishy.
I used to pump my Harley tires up with helium and it made that darn bike light as a feather.
Then I all ways took home the trophy for best e.t.
Yessuh. That was back in the day. Why we had a wild cariboo as a pet, I tell you.
Lived in a shack up the road, under the freeway.
Yessuh! That's right!

Really $60.00, they do it here for $5.00 per tire if you want it. Here is Phoenix. Look around but do not pay 60.

So true, but if people are willing to pay for it so they can brag at the local watering hole, someone is willing to sell it. I bet some garages are just filling tires with air and installing green caps. How would ya know?

Just thought I would add that in the Jeep world, CO2 is popular, but for different reasons.
