Default Bike Cover - is HD version worth the $$

The title pretty much spells it out. Other relevant point is that the bike will be stored in the (unheated) garage. Will also take other precautions (carpet, dessicant underneath, etc), but wondering if the HD cover is worth $150+ when the Amazon cover for $35 is getting pretty good reviews. I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it. But if its the same cover with "HD" on it.......

Appreciate the feedback.

I think you answered your question, anything with a HD logo is more expensive than the same product without the brand.

From the sound of it, my guess is you are covering it for winter storage. Whichever way you go, just make sure that the cover will breathe. As the temp fluctuates you could get condensation on the bike and you want to make sure it can evaporate. Personally, assuming all things equal, I'd go sans logo. Saving a few bucks by not doing HD's advertising for them is never a bad thing, and no need to advertise to would-be thieves what's under the cover should you use it on road trips.

I had a Dowco for my Night Train. It was cheaper than the HD cover but really durable. It had no problem keeping my bike clean and protected for a summer before I had a building to store it in. For inside, I considerate it overkill.

I just use a bed sheet. Keeps it clean. Honestly, I didn’t even cover the bike last year. Came out looking just like it did when I put it away.

Spend the money on something else you’d like.

Have a Walmart cover I bought 8 years and 3 bikes ago for 19.95. Works good, still holding up.

If you're storing it in a (more or less) climate controlled garage (meaning out of the weather, regardless of temperature), just throw an old cotton sheet over it, and it'll be fine, and spend the $$ you'll save on chrome goodies or a present for your Lady.

I've used Walmart covers and this year I bought two Harley covers for our Harleys....For a few more bucks, which I have, I like the Harley covers better. The only time we use them is when we go camping and take the bikes.

I can't think of anything Harley sells that's actually worth what they price it at.

I've bought three Harley wrist watches over the last ten years for my wife for Christmas presents. She wears them regularly and all we've done is replace batteries. I think they were worth what I paid for them. They are very stylish.

I bought a formosa cover from Amazon. Awesome and cheap. Check them out. Perfect fit. I think I even reviewed it with pics
