Like almost everything, there are tools for it. I have the Jims tool, but same thing as the Fueling used in this video. No doubt there are cheaper versions out there too.

Who said the sky was falling? No one was even worried a bit. A simple question was asked. My bike runs fine. I just wanted to know why the twin cam was referred to as the twinkie. I thought it was a derogatory term. In my opinion it is not a flattering term for a harley engine .

Like many other words it's multi purpose, it can be a term of endearment or a an insult, it's all in the context it's used in. Remember when a good friend brought home a new 2000 SG, he called it his cream puff.

I haven't checked mine yet, but I plan on using a cheaper version. I already have an inner cam bearing installation tool. If one already has that tool, why not just use the cam bearing installer plate along with a magnetic base and dial indicator? That's a cheaper solution.

1" Dial Indicator

Magnetic Base

Love my "Twinkie." No major issues in 11 years of ownership. I hope my M8 is as good.

Out of the 6 twin cams I have owned, 1 had to be replaced at 10K (under warranty). 1 needed lifters at 30K (under warranty, paid upcharge for fuelings), the other 4 have had no issues whatsoever.
I would buy another without hesitation.
Love my twinkies, the MoCo's and the Hostess.

Starting a thread title with,"What's wrong with..." kinda indicates the OP's agenda. Kinda.
