Interest Rates also cause lower used Harley prices.
HD dealer offer 2% rates on new 2017 & 2018's, while credit union/bank rates are heading up. Current rates run from 6 to almost 10 percent, adding thousands to the final cost of bikes.

Riders also live in "The Good Old Days", when bikes held their value for years and sometimes increased.
WE ALSO FAIL TO RECALL, custom upgrades cannot be added to the sales price. Amazing how 2013 touring bikes are offered for same prices (equal or higher) than 2014 thru 2017's.

Ya beat me too it. I am a big fan of lightly used vehicles of any kind.

......so what's going to change it from being "not for long"?

Go on CycleTrader and just look at the amount of brand new 2017 & 2018 bikes of each model and the '19s are out now. I think I saw where there are like 48 brand new 2017 Breakout CVOs. Wonder whose going to pony up CVO coin to buy those? 24 new TriGlides for 2017 still available and 834 2018 Trikes available.

...Harley could probably stop making bikes for one to two years and there'd still be plenty of new & used bikes available for today's demand for them. Same thing has happened to GM with the Corvette. They've made so many new ones that used ones are plenty and for every model year that goes by, the used ones get cheaper & cheaper. There just is not enough demand for all of them. Same exact thing happening now with the Harleys.

But how do you know how the bike has been stored in the winter? Was it in the man cave, garage, shed, under a cover outside, a makeshift patio cover, plastic shed and if so was there a light bulb or heater used, did the shed face north/south or east/west, was it saturated with WD40 or Corrosion X, was it at a dealer on a correct tender or was the tender rotated every 4th day, was Stabil used in the fuel or Seafoam? The possibilities are limitless.

"Wishful" is too kind - I was thinking delusional ... like many who have ten year old touring models with 20 or 30,000 miles, dry rotted tires, etc. and are asking what they paid for it new.

But it may have made a few of those " like many who have ten year old touring models with 20 or 30,000 miles, dry rotted tires, etc. and are asking what they paid for it new" folks feel better for a little longer.
