Default Have you Ever?

I own another brand of mc other than my Harleys. I went to this other forum (which I am a member of) praising that brand of model. In passing I mentioned I was a life time member orange and black. The attack you won't believe. Just between you and us. I am going to play this out. Maybe not. They seem to have run out of ammo..

Is it any different to being here and seeing HD owners attacking Goldwings? Or... even attacking other HD owners for not having "XYZ" bike that the attackers have decided is best?

It's playground mentality, that's all.

Weak minded people who invest their self-worth in things they own. When someone else doesn't like that "thing", or has a different "thing", the owners take it as a personal attack on their self-worth (via their own investment of it in the item).

In Oz I've seen fights erupt over "Ford or Holden" and I almost got twatted myself when I commented that a guy's 1995 Triumph "looked a bit Japanese-y" (It DID, it looked similar to the Suzuki Katana! Very similar ****-end). Luckily I was larger than him and he started to get second thoughts.

Nowadays I don't have much, any at all, time for those sort of people.
You buy, use, drive, ride what you wanna ride. No one else's opinion really matters (of course, if you chose to, you might take the opinions into account if you're deciding to buy something)

Honestly, why waste time? There's already enough people in this world arguing about senseless/useless crap......why throw more fuel on the fire. It's a childish pack mentality that happens in the safe confines of peoples homes via social media. I love Harley and think they are second to none.....but I'd be a fool if I didn't think that Indian, Honda, BMW, Triumph etc didn't make AWESOME machines too.

FWIW......it doesn't sound like a 'community' I would want to be a part of. Yes, there are pin heads here that get way too brand loyal and put down others choices on bikes, but most of the arguments about 'brand loyalty' here seems to be provoked.

Well said - you can absolutely love Harleys, but even a die-hard HD fan might admit that the Goldwing is a superbly made machine and just goes on forever; he just doesn't want one.

It's a narrow minded view, really - it's like loving Picasso's paintings and then feeling like you've betrayed that love if you also like a Constable painting. VERY silly.

It's odd too that it doesn't happen much (that I've seen) with other things.
I like LG TVs but have had Sony in the past. Other people I know don't like the colour on LG but do on Samsung TVs.
Neither of us get wound up because the other doesn't like the TV we like.... so why do people get so panty-twisted over cars and motorcycles?

You humans are weird!

I've owned multiple brands from Harley to Honda with the exception of Kawasucki.
