I put Bar-Baks and lower footpegs on my R1100GS to give myself a more upright riding position, and would at least install lower footpegs on an R1200GS if I bought one. I can ride my GS all day but not as comfortably as I can on my Road King.

It was a nice bike for the long haul. But the Street Glide is better. For me anyway.

Didn't Neal Pert ride one of these things around the globe or something? He lost his wife and daughter within the same year. That was his family. He used the bike in the picture to escape it all, and find some meaning to get his head in order.
"With the lack of answers to his aching questions, Peart, an avid motorcyclist, hopped on his BMW R1100GS motorcycle and rode 55,000 miles over the next 14 months in an effort to find some meaning in his life.
"As much as the endless driving cleared his mind, it was the compassion of others that proved most healing." <--------more of this in the world, would be nice, especially during these times herein the US.

Yes, Neil Peart is his name. Just so happens I'm reading that book right now.

I'm due for a new Touring bike but I don't like the fat 6 gallon gas tank on the newer FLs, and I'm not 100% sold on the R1200GS, although they have a $2K incentive now. Maybe I'll go to an 800cc - 1,000cc bike w/hard bags.
