I called Laser Spine and requested info from them. They called me several times every day after that asking when I'd like to schedule a consult. I felt like I was dealing with a car dealership which turned me off from them. Did you have the same experience leading up to your surgery with them?
Yes ! They have a sales team who work the deals and I understand the impression that gives, (poor) !
Frankly, I initially found the idea of promoting medical services on TV off-putting. This is probably because I'm Canadian and more used to begging for medical service than having it sold to me. You cannot even get these procedures done up here. Here, you typically get a bottle of Advil and instructions to suck it up until your back is so damn screwed up they fuse your spine,, (screwing it even further),, but I digress.
Promotions aside, my LSI experience was top notch in all respects and they are not in any way BS'ing about the results they provide. That is the reason I recommended em here. They repaired bulging discs on 2 levels for me and vaporized some forming arthritis all for the initial quoted price. I had 4 little nicks in my back, each closed with a stitch and covered by a band-aid after the 2 level procedure. I was flying back to Asia and my offshore job, (supervisory), in less than 10 days,,, 100% pain free.
I'll be 68 soon and I do get a stiff back some mornings but this is an entirely different discomfort from the chronic pain that lead me to seek surgery at LSI. That pain has never returned.

Back in the 70's I had a friend who lost his left leg in a bike accident. When he recovered and at the time with a prosthetic, he had his bike modified so that the shift was now on the right where the rear brake was. Can't remember what was done about the brake but use your imagination. Point being, and one thing that has to be concluded by the ideas given in this thread so far, is that many things are possible. The depth of your pockets and imagination are the limitations.

Drop foot/ CAN not use my foot to left peg for shifting
Hello , Everyone
I' am like a lot of you. I just bought my bike last year only put 700 miles on it. Woke up on day in Dec 2019 and my back was messed up. I have been on the roll coaster ride with pain pill's PTI, And been going to a pain Doctor, They wanted to put injection in my back but chicken out. I am to the point i only have very little pain and at times i can control it with a hot water bottle. MY left ankle is weak. If i step side ways it will bend under.. I can not lift or tap my left foot while my leg is drawn in. But if i move it outwards i can, But it is very weak so i can not put pressure on the front sifter to shift my bike. No big deal but it's a pain in the *** to left my foot to shift my bike. I have no problem stepping down to down shift , So i had a idea since i can not get pressure on my foot to lift from first into second gear using my toes, I took a 5/8 socket welded a small bar across it, Put it on top of the running boards about 3 inch from the back of my heel. Since i can step down on the rear of my foot to give enough pressure that it will lift my toes to shift my bike. But it still is not the same as being heeled.... Cost $5.57 I hope this helps some of you.

A good friend has gone through something very similar. He ended up having back surgery. It's taken quite a few months to heal, but he got to the point where he could work with a heel shifter, and finally to the point where he can pull up with his left foot. He still has back pain, but at least he can ride. Good luck, and find a good back surgeon.

I've ridden one. It will blow your mind. The thing is smooth as butter, and it's a ***king beast. It will lift the front wheel off the ground just by hitting the throttle. And if you want to, you can shift it manually using the paddle shifters on the left grip. You don't need to use your foot.
If you're having trouble with your left leg, it's not a cheap fix, but it will keep you riding for as long as you can swing a leg over the bike.
And then you put a trike kit on it.

Never rode one, but from what I understand goldwings are king of the road.
Myself, if they come out with an automatic tranny, I would be fine with it. Look at our autos. I am sure when they came out people never thought they would be what they are today. I get some people will say in mud or snow it is nice to have control. Even with my bike on gravel, I prefer to be one gear up. So to much power with an automatic may be an issue. Though my truck also has electric push button shifter I use sometimes in snow..
I would still want a clutch though.
