_denk: If you restore it be sure to take 10,000 quality pictures of it as is! Hire some hot models. Have family and friends take a picture with it. Maybe take another 10,000 pictures!

I have a option to purchase a 46 with sidecar when a friend dies if he goes before I do. If no one in the family steps up I get first chance at a fair market price.
Not holding my breath, I sure someone will step up and purchase it from the estate. he did not raise dummies.
so anything someone adds to the modern HD out of the phone book size HD accessories book makes the bike "butchered"? one has to remember the accessories available at that time were basically non existent and the owner had to use what they could get their hands on or make themselves.

+1
Get it road worthy but don't molest anything else.

Very cool but sad someone neglected it to get in that cond. When I was 13 my best friend bought a 47 that was in great shape.
He could not get it started. I said let me try. 3 rd kick it cranked and I hit 1st gear and was gone dn the road. Yes I rode it before he did.

We'll, to be fair, how many decades has it been since you were 13?
