Default Yeah.... A true lesson in humility.

So here in Virginia, we got some crappy weather going on. Last night the weatherman said below freezing temps, possible morning ice and ALL DAY RAIN. So I say dang, I better take the 4x4 just to be safe. About 5 miles from the office, my wipers quit in the pouring rain!!! Fortunately for me there's a repair shop a few miles up the road. So I'm limping along in the slow lane at maybe 25-30 mph, flashers on, wiping the window the best can, while trying not to die. And as I'm white knuckling my truck in this soup, thinking damn this sucks.... some guy on a Sportster goes flying by me like its a beautiful sunny day. And all I could think was..... Damn, you got NOTHING for that guy!

That guy on the bike would have been me, but I'm on a Dyna! Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts for riding in all kinds of weather, but I don't care. The ride home in the afternoon sun is WONDERFUL!!

I've noticed when the weather turns bad around here, I see more Sportsters and less big twins out on the roads. Most of the Sporties I see don't even have windshields!

It was a sportster He has not learned better yet. I was the very same way back in 2001--2003 when I got my first Harley Davidson.

The bike might have been the only way he could get around town. Desperate times call for desperate measures....
At one time in my life my sole means of transportation was a KLR650. Sometimes I would show up at work soaking wet but with a big grin on my face.

My sole transportation for 3 years was a Suzuki GT 550.
Rain, snow or shine didn't make a difference.
I learned to be real careful of the black ice under the underpasses................
