Default I got taken!! Warning for potential first time buyers!!

Ok so I’m owning it. I got taken for a ride by a dealer. I’d never financed anything in my life. My old man always said never to spend any money that ain’t already in my pocket, but the wife said we needed to build credit and we decided a payment would help...but we both have good cars and didn’t want the $20k+ debt, so I thought what the hell I’ll get a sporty.
I ended up with a ‘17 Iron. No money down, payments reasonable enough, but all said and done WELL over $10k. At the time the dealer had me convinced it was a great deal. Made me think he was in my corner. I learned the hard way, never EVER trust these guys.
They said they “got me hooked up” with the extended warranty. Came off like they threw it in on the house...I didn’t ask. Find out later, I’m paying almost $900 for that. Asked them to throw in some goodies. No dice. Said they wish they could but just couldn’t do it.
long story short, I got a bad deal because I didn’t do my home work and it’s my bad. My mistake. Yeah it’s definitely building up credit, but I still got taken and that’s a hard pill to swallow.

So for anybody looking at a new bike. BEWARE! These guys are looking for you and they’re good at what they do! Ask tons of questions! Get the details first! Know everything before you sign anything! Don’t be a sucker like me!

So call the extended warranty folks and get a refund. Not hard.

Then send the refund to the lender as reduction in principle

As you said you signed the papers. What you are doing now is called buyers remorse.

Suggestion. Adding debt is never a good thing to do. Never ever.

Are you financing through HD or some other way? And what is the time mileage difference between the standard warranty and the extended one?
Got any pics of it? Do you like the ride?

I think your wife is right in general about building up good credit but there are better and less expensive ways to do it than what you did.

I got a very good interest rate! That I think was part of what helped sucker me in. Got financed through a credit union that is actually being helpful for us with building credit. I didn’t think I could get a refund on the extended warranty though...I’ll have to do something about that. Thought I was locked in it

I don't see anywhere in there to where the dealer did you wrong.
