I had 3000.00 saved up till my grandson almost died, and I had to spend a lot of it but I will get the money saved up and when I do I will find some one that has a Sportster and needs some money and I'll help both of us.
That's not too bad...for a 2019 Roadking, out-the-door.

Think I'm kidding?...

The effective tax rate would have to be >60% to make a difference.

$208/month on a $6400 note for a 6 year loan??? There be dragons at this dealership.

I got similarly hilarious numbers from a dealership recently. They started "negotiations" at $2k over MSRP for a new FXFB. I stopped taking them seriously after that, but it was funny watching them move that extra $2k around the "4 Squares" and dealer charges for 45 mins. I thought that crap ended in the 90's.

In my time I have financed several dirtbikes, a couple of street bikes, one new Harley, three boats, one Grand National one motorhome and two GTO's. In most cases I had the money to pay cash for these so called toys and in most cases that money was making more being invested than the interest I was paying on these short term loans. Or the money was tied up in IRA's and my tax liability to take a distribution would have exceeded the interest I was paying. There is not one piece of financial advice that fits every person or every scenario. I think the best advice to give is to always have a plan B.
