Default Disappointed

I kinda disappointed a salesman at the dealership yesterday..I was looking at the pre owned Sportsters and the salesman showed me a 17 883 and i really liked it .The salesman wanted to work up the numbers for me, so i said "sure why not." It was black and it had 800 miles on it and they only wanted 8000.00 for it. To make a long story short ,2200.00 down and 72 payments, so after i had the information, i whipped out my cell phone and used the calculator and added everything up, That Sportster would have cost me 26000.00 dollars. I looked at the salesman and said Yeah,,,,,NO.

Never finance toys.....If you can't pay cash for it, don't buy it.

Asked the salesman what I would put on the check, got the checkbook out and started filling it in, and when I got to the number, salesman said wait, that doesn't include shipping and setup and the special wax job (yes, wax, I'll never forget that). He followed me out to my car trying to talk me into coming back... Some of them just can't do an honest deal, always want to slip something in after they hook you.

Needless to say I'm Not going to finance a sportster, even if it takes me a whole year or two, to save up and buy it , then so be it.

In car, boat and motorcycle sales they have a saying, "Sell the payment, not the price."

Also, keep in mind that a vig is sometimes passed back from the finance company to the originator.

So the payments would have been $361/month for 72 months on a loan of ~about~ $5800 ($8000-$2200).

Your numbers are f$cked up somewhere. Really fu%ked up. Sorry to rain on your parade, but you did the math wrong.
